Troy has over 30 years of experience working in the marine industry in New Zealand and worldwide. As a professional sailor, Troy competed in some of the greatest races around the globe and worked with teams including Prada Luna Rosa Americas Cup Challenge. He spent a number of years skippering cruising yachts in North America, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean and during this time project managed large refit and new build projects worldwide. A highlight was living in Holland for eighteen months as build captain for the construction of the Hood 112 footer PAMINA at the Royal Huisman Shipyard.
On returning to NZ Troy joined Salthouse Marine Group as Sales and Marketing Manager where he was responsible for a substantial growth in sales of the Salthouse Sovereign range of fly-bridge cruisers within NZ and Australia. This was followed by five years as the Sales and Marketing Manager at New Zealand boat builder Formula Cruisers where he was successful at developing sales channels and growth offshore, as well as being instrumental in the introduction of new models and vessel development.
Troy’s focus is on customer satisfaction and he believes that if either party involved in the sale or building of a boat does not enjoy the process, there is little point in doing it. The decision to buy, and also to sell a vessel, is a huge commitment and needs to be a successful and enjoyable process for all. Troy’s marketing experience is invaluable in creating professional sales brochures as well as advertising for each listing and maximising the sales opportunities.
